Terms of Use & License Agreement

Effective date: April 18, 2026

By purchasing, installing, or using Automac IT (“the Software”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. License Grant

beautifulplanet (“we”, “us”) grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Automac IT on up to 3 (three) Windows computers that you own or control.

One purchase = one license key = up to 3 device activations.
You may not share, resell, sublicense, or distribute your license key.
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the Software.

2. Free Version

Automac IT Free is a separate, limited version available at no cost under the VS Code Marketplace. It is provided as-is. These terms apply to both the free and paid versions.

3. Payment & Refunds

One-time purchase. There is no subscription and no recurring charges.
Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your payment details.
Refunds: If the Software does not work as described, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Refunds are processed through Stripe and will deactivate your license key.

4. What the Software Does

Automac IT is an AI-powered helpdesk that runs inside VS Code on Windows. It:

Accepts plain-English descriptions of PC problems.
Runs diagnostic PowerShell commands locally on your machine.
Sends scrubbed results to an AI provider (GitHub Copilot or Anthropic) for analysis.
Suggests and, with your permission, executes fixes.

Important: The Software executes commands on your computer. While it includes safety restrictions (blocked commands, protected processes, confirmation prompts), you are responsible for reviewing and approving every action. The AI may suggest actions that are inappropriate for your specific situation.

5. AI Provider Relationship

Automac IT connects to a third-party AI provider that you configure. We do not control, operate, or have access to the AI provider. The AI provider’s terms and privacy policy govern their handling of your data. We are not responsible for the AI’s responses, accuracy, or availability.

6. Your Responsibilities

Review before approving. Always review what the AI proposes before allowing it to execute commands.
Back up your data. The Software can modify files and system settings. Maintain backups.
Do not share sensitive information. Do not type passwords, credit card numbers, SSNs, or other sensitive data into the chat. The extension warns you but cannot prevent it.
Keep your license key private. Treat it like a product key.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

The Software will fix every problem.
The AI’s suggestions will be correct or safe in every situation.
The PII scrubbing will catch 100% of sensitive data.
The Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, beautifulplanet SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license ($25 USD).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless beautifulplanet from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Software, including actions executed by the AI on your system with your approval.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it.
We may revoke your license if you violate these terms (e.g., redistributing the Software or sharing your key).
Refunded licenses are automatically deactivated.

11. Intellectual Property

The Software, its code, documentation, and branding are the intellectual property of beautifulplanet. This license does not grant you ownership of the Software.

12. Updates

We may release updates to the Software. Updates are optional and delivered through the VS Code Marketplace. These terms apply to all versions.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the state where beautifulplanet is registered.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated through the extension’s changelog or website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
